The Ukraine Response

The Ukraine Response

Training

Our host training begins on Thursday the 9th of June, 7:30 pm until 9:30 pm on Zoom for four weeks, on the 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th June. All Thursday evenings, all at 7:30-9:30 pm.

Our training will be online on Thursday evenings over 4 weekly sessions and will cover the following topics:

1. Introducing refugees and how the Bristol support systems will work for hosts and guests (wider than Ukraine but very helpful context)

2. The realities of hosting (we have extensive experience of this in our team) and how to make it work

3. Trauma (adults, children and our own possible vicarious trauma)

4. Intercultural awareness (including some information about Ukrainian culture)

We have been working together with experts in the various fields across Bristol to put together these training sessions and they will be interactive and multimedia and there will be plenty of opportunity to discuss learning in small groups too.
